From Columbus Dispatch Guestbook

May 06, 2008

Dear Victor and Family:

For us, "Cookie" was a bridge between a vanished Yiddish culture (including marvelous traditional Passover recipes) and avant-garde modernity.

For this and reasons expressed by others she will be missed by us.

Dear Victor,Marla,Andrea & Jeffrey,

It was with overwhelming sadness and shock that we received word of Cookie's passing while we were out of the country. Like everyone else who loved her, we are struggling with our feelings of loss and especially inadequacy, as we try in some small way to bring comfort to you during this most difficult time. Cookie was a golden thread in the fabric of life in Columbus, a force who had a profound impact on each of us that she touched--a legend indeed! It is hard to imagine Columbus without Cookie Krupman. We feel blessed for having had the good fortune to know her and enjoy her friendship. We will miss her.

Love, Marcy and Howard

Dear Victor, Marla, Andrea and Jeffrey,

I am writing this to you as tears stream uncontrollably from my eyes. I am so saddened and shocked to hear about Cookie's passing. When I think about my childhood, there are so many wonderful memories with your family- especially the joint bar/bat mitzvah party I shared with Jeffrey. There was truly no one else like her, and of course, I absolutely adored her. I am terribly sorry for this loss you share together and please know that the Weiss family sends you all the love in the world.

Dear Victor, Marla, Andrea and Jeffrey,

Ken and I cannot even express the magnitude of the sympathy that we feel for your loss...for this loss for so many of us.

We so loved Cookie, as did Jordana, Herbie and Emma. Cookie had a special place in our hearts.

We feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to spend time with her in January in Florida during happy moments.

We are looking forward to the day when we can smile about all the great times we had together.

With love,

Carol and Ken (Feinberg/Gilman)

There are so very many of us that share in your loss and deep sorrow. . .

Learning of Edis' untimely death was such an overwhelming shock for us all. She meant so much to so many.

I recently lost my own Mother/best friend, and then, soon after, my Father. . yet,I still know of no words to ease your pain. . .My heart and prayers are with you all. . . .

I am proud to be one of her longtime friends, since junior high school . . .and am so very pleased that not long ago, we all had an opportunity to become "reunited". . . .

Again, please accept my very sincere condolences.
