Cookie and I were childhood friends for the short time that my family lived in Columbus on Harding Road. Edis and I had many good times together and the members of her family were very kind to me. Even though I knew Edis for only a year and a half, she touched my life in many positive ways and I shall always remember her with great affection.

I can only tell you how sorry I am to hear of your loss, but also I want to tell you I will never forget your mother, you and your family. She was a wonderful friend and caregiver to me as I was growing up. From teaching me about the Kosher part of being Jewish ... to the cupboard where the dishes were for me to use during sleepovers ... picking us up from Hebrew school when I was a guest ... driving us to Friday night association and turning me on to Block's bagels & Lox that I still love to this day. Only time will help, for I know what you are going through. Losing my father was one of the hardest things I have ever gone through. Claudia Ruben - March 22nd, 2008 at 8:16am - Cookie was one of the most creative and quick-witted people I have ever known. I never passed up the opportunity to help her with her wardrobe, her daughter's wardrobes, the years I worked at the Limited. I remember visiting Andrea at their home after she had had surgery - Cookie was outwardly touched that I would come to cheer up her young daughter.
